The city hotel's red brick exterior blends seamlessly with the family homes and gardens of this residential street. Since the departure of RMS Titanic from the White Star Line dock on 10th April 1912, Southampton will always be linked with the ill-fated liner. This establishment was once owned by local businessman Henry Hodges who had bought first-class passage and perished, his being one of the few bodies to ever be retrieved. The hotel has 71 rooms. Guests are welcomed in the lobby, which offers a 24-hour reception and a 24-hour check-out service, as well as a breakfast room and conference facilities.
