In the artwork selected for the hotel, the Dusseldorf artist Katharina Sieverding shows that she regards this hotel as a special destination. Famous British designer Jasper Morrison is responsible for the masterly interior design. The modern design, the work of the Rave architects, blends with the original building created by Persius who planned and erected it in 1848 in the style of an Italian Castello on the bank of the River Havel, only five minutes from the downtown area. The famous Sanssouci Palace and Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with its collection of plants from all over the world, is only minutes away from this hotel. Other unique cultural landscapes include the University of Potsdam, a world class institution. Potsdam Street has many shops and pubs. Berlin's Tegel Airport, Congress Centre and Trade Fair Ground are only a short drive from this Potsdam hotel. The Naunener Tor is an interesting local sight.
