Relaxed and informal, this Victorian hunting lodge is set in 4 hectares of the Cairngorms national park and offers comfortable surroundings with an award winning chef, fine wine list and seventy whisky bar. Enjoy the jazz night or lunch on the terrace or just recline in front of a roaring fire.

The restaurant serves beautiful dishes made from the best quality local ingredients. Most of the meat and poultry comes from within 30 miles of the hotel, and the fish and seafood from Scottish boats working out of Moray and West coast harbours. Head chef Addy Daggert, twice winner of the Grampian Chef of the Year, creates stunning menues. Some of the most popular dishes include pressed smoked salmon and sea trout terrine, a lamb shank slow roasted for six hours to such perfect tenderness that the meat just falls off the bone and a tea and citrus terrine with frozen yoghurt sorbet that is to die for. The wine list is extensive.

Wednesday night is jazz night. The resident whisky expert offers private whisky tasting in the bar. (Free at the hotel). The Hotel can organise Golf at the famous Championship Boat of Garten course or any of the wonderful golf courses nearby. Mountain biking, quad biking, riding, clay pigeon shooting, gorge walking, hill climbing, rock climbing, skiing and cross country skiing can also be organised in the local area. (All activities are subject to availability and charges).

The hotel is perfectly placed as a gateway to the Whisky Experience. Within a very few km are distilleries and cooperages, and the famed Spey water runs right past the the front of the hotel. The Cairngorms national park is on the doorstep with wonderful mountain walks in the summer and skiing in the winter. Dolphin watch or just walk along beautiful sandy beaches of the Moray Firth which is within 1/2 an hours drive from the hotel.
