The historical building of the " Red Hat " where Mr. De Nemours, Governor of Lyon, Forez and Beaujolais (1531 -1585) slept, was established as a hotel, since the 16th century. It was the meetingplace for actors, actresses and all artists who performed along the banks of the river Saône. The old Lyon is now an international, historical and protected site.In the 1990, the hotel was bought by the present owners and includes three connecting buildings from the 16th and 17th centuries. After two years of refurbishing, the hotel with its Florentine architectural design, reopened. It is an elegant, refined and superbly decorated hotel keeping to its traditions with a modern touch. It has 36 rooms, 11 of which are junior suites, conferences rooms and arched entrance hall, 18 th century fireplaces, panelling and preserved historical columns which have been restored and classified.
