The Falésia Praia Hotel (the name translates as roughly Cliff Beach Hotel) was one of the first hotels in Canoa Quebrada, originally built in 1994 and recently renovated. Past guests give it positive reviews for its helpful staff and tranquil location. Among the hotel amenities are an outdoor swimming pool and sunbathing area, free parking, and a complimentary breakfast every morning. This hotel is located in the centre of the beach village of Canoa Quebrada, only a few blocks from the main street, called Broadway or the Rua Principal, which is lined with shops and restaurants, and becomes one big party on the weekend. The main daytime activities for visitors to Canoa Quebrada are walking on the beach; taking rides in dune-buggies or on the traditional fishing rafts with sails, called jangadas; kitesurfing; paragliding from the cliffs; and admiring the sunset from the dunes backing the town. Most visitors reach Canoa Quebrada via buses or mini buses from Fortaleza.
