Built on the hills of Lake Trasimeno and extraordinarily well-preserved, this tiny village came gradually into existence in the fourteenth century as it grew into a supply town during the construction of a still-standing watchtower to protect Perugia from a southern invasion. Tucked into the corner of the village wall is the Rocca Buitoni (La Locanda), an ancient family residence built in the thirteen hundreds.
